"Our Mission is to link offenders and their families to the community in which they live."

About Us

Formerly known as Man-To-Man/Woman-to-Woman of Columbus, Community Connection has been active in Ohio prisons serving the reintegration needs of inmates since 1971.  Programming has developed in response to the needs of the inmates and their communities.  In 1988, we initiated community resource workshops for inmates nearing release; these information sessions served as the foundation for procuring contracts with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections to conduct pre-release training in many prisons across the state.

In 1993, we established a resource center on the near-eastside of Columbus to provide direct, ongoing post-release services.  Today, this office houses the Columbus Post-Release Service Center funded by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction and the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services.  A Lima Ohio office opened in 1999 to provide ex-offenders with community resource information.  This office has evolved into the Lima Reentry and Crime Prevention Institute.  With our new focus on restorative justice, programs are evolving to serve victims and their community as well as ex-offenders and their families as we work to reduce crime in communities throughout the state.
